Dave Carroll

Lead Pastor

We came with our 4 boys from South Florida to Billings in June of 2012. By God's grace, Elevation church was born on March 31, 2013.

I was born in Miami, FL and married Amy (my best friend and co-church planter) in 1999 after meeting her at school in West Palm Beach, FL. Having served in various churches and in many different ministry capacities over the past 20 years, my passion is to see the people of Billings come alive in Jesus Christ. I love to bring passion into preaching the Word of God.

My B.A. was in Communications at Palm Beach Atlantic University in 1999 and a Master of Divinity from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary was completed in 2007. I enjoy anything Miami Hurricanes, fishing- his trophy being a 110 yellowfin tuna, fantasy basketball, having fun in general, listening to podcasts and playing guitar. I used to like the Miami Dolphins, but that fandom is dormant!

Confession time: I used to enjoy video games until my boys began whooping me in nearly every game, a true signal I needed to find other things to do. PS. Go Grizz!!!

"Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due time you will reap a harvest if you do not give up." Galatians 6:9

Freddie Bennett

Elevation Kids Director

In 2016, Freddie and her family of four (soon to be five)—husband, Austin, and children, Salem and Coram-Deo—left Mesa, AZ to return to her Montanan roots as a Christian. Often comparing her own life to that of the woman that washed Jesus’s feet, Freddie’s faith solidified through trusting “if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come (2 Corinithians 5:17).”

She brings a combined six years of administration experience in the non-profit and church worlds as a manager for Scottsdale-based teenage risk prevention non-profit, NotMyKid, and as the backhouse supervisor for children’s ministry at Redemption Church (Tempe, AZ). Returning home has not been easy, but she is excited to “fish, snowboard, and serve Elevation Church as the Kids Director." She explains, “My heart’s desire is to see redemption on this side of heaven in the lives of everyone I meet, especially in the children I have the privilege to be around.”

Bree Jones

Ministry Director

& Serving Coordinator

I moved from Southern CA to Billings as a freshman in high school and have lived here for over 20 years. I grew up in church and have parents who gave me a solid foundation. I have been married to Dan for almost 17 years and have two beautiful kids, Chloe & Eric. I have always had a heart to serve and love it whole-heartedly. My passion is to serve others and see them grow in their faith by being in the Word and getting involved by serving those at Elevation. I love spending time with my family and cooking for others in my free time.

For even the son of man didn't come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many. Mark 10:45

Virginia Power

Groups & Next steps

I have lived in Montana all of my life.  I grew up on a ranch in Eastern Montana and went to college in Billings, where I received a degree in Elementary Education.  I was saved by Jesus Christ when I was 26.  Because so much of my life was lived without Him, it has helped me to realize how much we all need a Savior.  The Bible says in Ephesians 5:8, that once we were darkness before we knew Christ, which is certainly my testimony.  My husband and I have three children at home.  Both boys are in college and I homeschool my daughter. In my free time, I love to work with power tools.  I go back to Eastern Montana as often as I can and rescue old wood and turn it into something beautiful.

I serve on staff at Elevation Church as the Small Group Coordinator.  I organize the group semesters and help people to know Jesus better through involvement with other believers.  I also run the Next Steps center with my husband Paul, and generally do anything I can do to help our Sunday services run smoothly.  I love to serve and try to pour out my life to help others know Jesus better.  I love spending time with my family and I hold tightly to the precious moments that we get together.

I love all Scripture and am constantly trying to memorize more.  My current favorite is Psalm 34:3, which says, Glorify the Lord with me; let us exalt his name together.

Nate copeland

student minister

I was born in Southern California but have lived in Billings Montana for 20 plus years. I've always been involved in church from a young age. I've know for awhile that God had called me to ministry, but chose to question that call and keep living my life. I came to Elevation and God really put it on my heart to get involved and start serving. My walk with God became stronger and deeper than ever. In September of 2016, I was given the opportunity to be the Student Minister and to serve the youth of Elevation. At a young age I thought God would one day use me in youth ministry in some way. I have two beautiful girls Aleia and Ali!!

The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still. Exodus 14:14

Mark Hansen

Care Pastor

Pastor Mark brings a wealth of experience in caring for people. He has served vocationally in ministry for decades and has a heart for Jesus! He and his wife, Jo, come from Worland, Wyoming and are a blessing to Elevation Church. His love for discipleship, marriages and service make him a perfect fit to lead this ministry.

Pastoral intern

I was born and raised in the state of Montana. I came to Christ at age seven, and by the age of nine, I began to feel a calling to ministry. I was able to finish my Bachelor's in Organizational Communication at age 19, and I am currently working toward a Master's in Divinity through Gateway Seminary's online program. I am also pursuing a calling to the US Army Chaplain Candidate Program. I am currently serving as the Pastoral Intern, "Next Steps" volunteer, and youth volunteer here with Elevation Church.

Acts 20:24- "However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the gospel of God's grace."

Joe and Lana have been apart of Elevation since the earliest days. Joe loves long walks on the beach and the Denver Broncos. He assists in the areas of technology, sound, lighting and general ministry help.

Glenn and his wife Miriam are originally from Northern New Jersey. Glenn was an ardent Atheist living his dream in a metal band. He hated God, hated Christians, hated the Bible, thought believers were born into the religion or needed a fairy tale comfort for their conscience, and that science disproved the Bible. He wanted nothing to do with God and wasn’t looking for Him, but on March 12, 2006 at 12:13 AM, Glenn was reborn of the Holy Spirit and received “the call” to follow Jesus Christ. He burns to proclaim the absolute truth of the Gospel and the infallible authority of the Bible.

Glenn received a B.A. in Psychology from William Paterson University and is working on his graduate studies at Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary. He enjoys a passionate walk with God, spending time with his family, theology, apologetics, evangelism, hunting, fishing, guitars, and gardening.

Caleb & Courtney Groteluschen

Church Planting interns

**Caleb & Courtney will launch Captstone Church in Helena, MT on Easter Sunday 2017!**

Having grown up in Buffalo, WY, Caleb has had a heart for the Rocky Mountain west for his whole life. At an early age, he surrendered to the Lord, and his life has been changed by this fact ever since. His ministry endeavors started nearly ten years ago, and from the earliest stages, he knew that he wanted to see Christ proclaimed in the West. While attending Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, TX, he met His wife Courtney, and they were married on October 20, 2012. They Both have degrees from Hardin-Simmons University and Caleb received his M.Div from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in December of 2014. Together, they enjoy the outdoors, fly-fishing, sports, their families and good barbecue (Texas Style). "
